Dog friendly bed and breakfast accommodation overlooking Loch Ness near the Great Glen Way in the heart of the Scottish Highlands!
Why are we the best? Don't take our word for it. This is what Jon Smith from Sleaford in Lincolnshire had to say about Torran B&B in his recent Trip Advisor review:
The location was superb, just a short car journey from Drumnadrochit, and had spectacular views over the Glen and Loch Ness. All that was needed to experience wonderful countryside was to step out of the door where acres were available for our dog to freely roam. Facilities for dog owners are excellent and Mike and Linda made us feel at home, giving our dog as much freedom as we had. If you are looking for excellent service, outstanding location and a truly dog friendly place to stay then Torran House is the place to be..." Not convinced? You can read some more guests' reviews here. People love coming to Torran because we treat them as friends, not as customers and we try to give them the best possible welcome, accommodation, food and service, based on what we ourselves would expect from a top class B&B. Our aim is to offer exceptional value for money and we never cut corners to achieve that aim. Accommodation There is exclusive accommodation for a family or group of up to 5 in a separate guest wing with 2 double bedrooms; private sitting room (with single put-u-up); private shower-room; satellite TV and WiFi. See the accommodation page for more details.
What is Torran?
Torran House
is a
former
gamekeeper’s cottage,
recently modernized and extended, set on a mountain
250m
(825') above mysterious Loch Ness in the
Highlands of Scotland and surrounded by wild Scottish moorland,
teeming with wildlife - everything, in fact, except the Loch Ness
Monster
itself!
The house is the family home of Mike and Linda Johnson, their 2 dogs and 2 cats. Linda is a full-time teacher and Mike, a retired business manager, looks after the B&B. The dogs are two very friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
The Great Glen Way The Great Glen Way passes along the A82 at the bottom of the hill leading up to Torran and sometimes a 250m climb after a long day's walk is not attractive. However, for those who are not purists, a relatively level track leads from Torran across the hills to join the Way just north of Achpopuli Farm (NH 546 344) at a altitude of about 350m. If you are a purist but don't fancy the climb after your day's trek, we will always be happy to pick you up from the village and drop you again next day at the precise spot at which you interrupted your walk - no charge for the taxi service, either.
